Meet Rita, the heart and hands behind Perth Curls. Passionate about healthy, vibrant curls and driven by a simple belief — every curl deserves care that celebrates its natural beauty — Rita launched Perth Curls in 2019 to bring salon-quality, curly-hair–first products and honest guidance to clients from all over Perth.
Rita trained as a hairdresser in one of Perth’s best salons almost 17 years ago and has spent the years since refining her skills alongside some of the city’s top stylists. She discovered a passion for curly hair care after years of struggling to find cuts and products that suited her own textured hair. That personal journey led her to search for alternatives to the routines that weren’t working — switching to cleaner hair care and removing sulfates and silicones from her routine revealed her curls like never before and allowed her to truly embrace her natural texture.
Being a hairstylist, Rita expanded her professional education to specialise in curl cutting, colouring and curl-specific hair care. With more than a decade of hands-on experience, she focuses on curl-friendly precision cutting, personalised product recommendations and gentle techniques that preserve hair integrity. Rita loves customising colours and lightening curls while maintaining strength and bounce.
Almost six years ago she opened Perth Curls, a salon dedicated solely to curly hair. She continues to learn from leading professionals in the field to stay at the forefront of curl techniques and education.

Bella moved from Canada to Australia ten years ago and brings a warm, curious energy to everything she does. In her downtime she loves nothing more than getting lost in a good book, but her lifelong fascination with hair—styling friends for school events as a teenager—led her into a creative career she genuinely loves. With 15 years in the industry and five specialising in curls, Bella knows firsthand the challenges and joys of managing naturally curly hair, and she’s passionate about educating clients on how to care for their hair at home. She finds real satisfaction in empowering people to embrace their natural texture and achieve healthy, defined curls, and values the genuine connections she makes with clients along the way.
Her best advice for curly girls: Learn to love and embrace your hair on its journey, as it's not an overnight success and all you need is patience.
Cutting Specialist & Extensionist
Lydia
Lydia has been in the industry for almost 10 years, first training in Melbourne where she fell in love with colour theory, and completing her qualifications with Perth Curls in 2024. Focused, approachable, and driven by results, she builds strong relationships by connecting clients to the right hair solutions with clarity and care. Lydia enjoys creating custom colours while helping people reach their personal hair dreams and loves the social aspect of being a hairstylist. In her downtime she likes dancing, watercolour painting and watching true crime documentaries.

Elly joined the Perth Curls team in 2025 and breezed through our curl specialist training. She’s passionate about cutting and thrives on the variety curly hair brings — every head is beautifully different, and she loves tailoring each cut to the curl pattern and the client’s lifestyle.
A true coffee lover, Elly is just as happy crafting the perfect espresso as she is crafting the perfect shape. She’s warm, chatty and welcomes conversation with just about anyone who walks through the door, making appointments feel relaxed and friendly.
Favourite thing about curly hair: the endless variation — no two heads are the same, and that keeps every appointment exciting.
